Dublin is famous for so much - its whiskey and Guiness, its castles and heritage, the weather and friendlyness of the folk.
With a strong Roman Catholic tradition there are plenty of Churches and Cathedrals such as Christ Church Cathedral which was built in 1083 and subsequently demolished and rebuilt by the Normans in 1172.

Other places of interest must include the museums and art galleries such as the Dublin Civic Museum which was built in 1765 or the National Gallery of Ireland.
There is also the National Concert Hall which is Ireland's most prestigious music venue. Designed in the classical stlye for the great exhibition of 1865, it subsequently became the centre piece of the emerging UCD before its inaguration as Ireland's National Concert Hall in 1981.
The Interior has been refurbished by the Office of Public Works and boasts a fine collection of contemporary Irish art. The main auditorium can accomodate up to 1,200 people. The adjoining John Field Room or the Carolan Room offer alternative venues for the smaller conference or lecture.
